Mark, I've checked out the voters and they're from a wide spread of IP and sign-up date. I'm going to do some geo-IP lookups on them too to see if they're in the same location. However, I don't think there's any shenanigans here. Not least because the author of the caption is someone who has contributed well to the site and submitted many great captions without episode in the past.
By all means, feel free to comment, but don't down vote to express suspicion at voting patterns unless you have evidence of foul play.
really peed off for the down vote and taking away the pleasure of getting so many votes...besides, 14 or more votes on one caption is not unusual on this site at all...It really is a matter of personal taste if you like the caption or not, I have others on here today that got nil votes, but don't cast wild aspersions matey, bad form from you whoever you are. .thanks Chris for your support.
We've had another couple recently like that though - 'what do you mean...wrong pub' and 'get off the road ya muppet' for instance. Maybe the composition of caption.me is changing - I'd guess it was mainly 'hard core' captioneers in the past, who played for fun, but now with £50 on offer a lot of people are going to pile in, and just because a caption's obvious doesn't mean it won't get a laugh...
