The least this captioner could do is write 'nod to Gordon Bannerman' in the comments, it's basic courtesy. I don't have a problem with people re-using older captions, so long as they acknowledge the original.
Nods are better underneath the caption rather than a comment. A comment on your own caption, unless it's a reply to someone, comes across as trying to advertise your caption.
I think the 'nod' should be used more often as well, especially on straight copies from recent captions. However where do we draw the line? We might start nodding off if old faithfuls like WC Fields, flushing meadows, at the crack of Dawn etc are all continually acknowledged. Of course if it's your own caption you are reusing then there's no need.
Yes, it is my own caption Pete. Guilty of recycling I'm afraid Though I do agree with you and Michael about acknowledgment. I did submit a couple of others which didn't rely on earlier inspiration so I hope that absolves me from any blame! Cheers
Anyone see a similarity?

I would much prefer you getting the votes on your own caption than somebody else, Gordon.

Thanks Pete. Yes, it is different from cribbing someone else's caption. Cheers
