You were so lightning fast to get your's there that I think it must have been done by telepathy!! I thought other captioneers may think of it, so I made an effort to be first, yet you still beat me & I had to ditch my attempt. Good luck C
Sometimes 'stating the ... obvious' can still be hilariously funny - Britains greatest comics & situation comedies are often predictable using punch lines that you knew they'd say - yet it still made us laugh, even before they said it sometimes!
If captioneers don't like it, then they don't vote for it - the fairest & simplest of systems really. Isn't captioning all about having a laugh? Have fun & Happy New Year :)
It isn't very original if so many have the same idea, let alone creative.. I would have voted for it if it had been slightly different like my (bad) flush in Japan comment but then better. Stating the obvious could result in uploading ( and voting) for pictures made with captions in mind...think of an obvious caption, take a picture and be the first to add a caption "ctrl.v"..
It's an apt if not original caption which suits the picture. lets not get too precious about it...so put that pellet gun away, some of us are bending over in the garden doing a bit of post Christmas worm hunting...might get messy ;)
If six people have the same idea, it's probably a good'un. Obvious, perhaps, but popular.
There are a lot of great minds on caption.me now, so I fully expect to see some duplication. What's great about the community here is that people generally delete their own caption if it duplicates an earlier submission.
I'm very close to rolling out the super vote feature. Soon we'll see a new dimension to voting, which will reward the cleverest and laugh-out-loud funny captions. Watch this space.
