Yes Mr Anonymous - you are indeed right someone did indeed beat me to it and if I'd noticed I would not have submitted the caption. I will go as far as to say that sometimes I read captions and subsequently repeat those ideas. It is not deliberate. It is not supposed to be derivative - it just happens... and if I notice it after - I will delete the caption.
One of my captions which I got loads of points for last year has appeared today - I will happily vote for it now. I don't consider it my property...
