In the past I've had the good fortune to work with Attenborough's sound recordist Chris Watson, and have actually heard this exact recording that he made. He also puts microphones into the carcass of zebras to get recordings of vultures tearing them apart from the inside. It is awesome. I think they used some of it in the game World of Warcraft.
