Will only get votes from men. I had to google it because I didn't understand it, grose. If hubby looks through computer history he will wonder what I have been up to.
im really sorry julie but the tears are rolling down my face as i pictured your poor hubby accidentally finding that on your search history,at least you have this thread as absolute proof you didnt seek out this filthy behaviour heh heh heh
Thanks for that Craig, I think the iPads mascara one is much more to my taste and has got my girly vote.
I wouldn't look Shandonbelle it is far worse than I imagined. How come all these men instantly got it? Maybe it is a good thing that this site is keeping them occupied.
For the gentile folk. in'07/'08 there was a pastime where people would secretly film peoples reaction to watching a clip from a extreme pornographic film. The clips were then uploaded to Youtube
I'm not sure that it's more of a man's sense of humour, maybe just more of an internet phenomenon. There have been hundreds (thousands?) of videos of people filming their reactions to it - they're probably more famous than the original video itself - so the caption is really referencing the response rather than the content.
...But I'm aware that over-analysing captions can suck the joy out of them so sorry to the, ahem, anonymous captioneer.
hehehe your big shovel isnt quite big enough Lee...and to any other lady that feels the need to google it,please dont...this thread is funnier than all of the captions for this photo put together...:)))
I agree, if you haven't seen it than don't watch it...but judging men in general by this caption/clip is silly. I know many women that seen it or are brilliant aristocrats joke tellers, no need to be politically correct.
I agree with Lee...the youtube reactions to it are hilarious! They are harmfull and one of the best emotional changes you will ever see! The actual video is not worth watching...and I think this caption is not about the video but about people's reaction to it.
I've never actually seen the 'cup' clip or even the Goatse image, just heard of the notoriety of it through online friends and colleagues. Accidentally following a link to Tubgirl was enough for me. My eyes- MY EYES!
Who in the hell put that sad & sick thought to a caption.
Chris i know that you said that within limits its an adult site but you need to take charge of this kind of input - send me a message or its goodbye from me.
Sorry you feel that way Dennis, but humour is the most subjective thing there is. I don't think that you should be asking for captions to be removed simply because you personally find them offensive- the caption isn't racist or homophobic, and isn't sexist in itself, only referring to a film that is sexist because it objectifies women (as all straight porn does). How many ageist captions has this image generated today, and without a single comment? I'll be sad to see you go because of this, but the fact is that it's probably only funny if you've heard of the clip, but never seen it. It sounds to me as if you've seen it.
If anyone is thinking of googling this because they don't get it, go to wikipedia and nowhere else- it will explain what the 'two girls one cup' reference is without too much graphic detail.
What the cupping hell is this all about?.....I've no idea, but from what Captioneers say I really do never want to know.I am an old fashioned male with certain principles about life and what should appear on a fun quiz web site.
The caption is only referencing internet culture. Think this has been blown out of proportion As Michael Winner stated there have been other captions based upon the age and technological awareness/ability of the couple portrayed in the photograph yet no-one complains. go ahead deactivate your account, it gives me more chance of winning.
For what it’s worth, I believe this caption was quite clever. But that doesn’t make it acceptable. I was unlucky enough to be sent the video in question some five years ago by a so-called friend. It is the vilest form of degradation, not only to women but to the entire human race! Not to put too fine a point on it... it scarred me for life! If this caption has inspired anyone to search for – and watch – the horror of this thing then caption.me is a sadder place because of it. I’m sorry, on behalf of all that is good, that you have been subjected to it merely through the need to understand an ill-conceived caption. Okay, rant over... back to thinking up some innocent and perhaps even funny captions.
I'd like to remind everyone that the reason the caption is funny (and, yes, clever) is because you have to project what the woman's response is going to be when she watches the video. That's all it is- the incongruity of imagining a retired lady watching the most depraved filth imaginable. She's not a typical snarky 4Chan posting troll who would get off on watching scheisse porn, and that's the joke. The captioneer hasn't in any way condoned the 'two girls, one cup' video, and may not even have seen it. I haven't seen it, but I know of it, and it seems to me to be useable in a caption since it's a common internet meme (but please don't send me a link to it).
If Captionme is only going to be about puns and wordplay then it's going to lose its way. Puns are great, but so are oddball comedy, biting satire, old TV comedy lines, ad references, weird non-sequiturs and vicious gallows humour. It's the mix of all of these things that provide Captionme with what makes it what it is today, and without that variation, it's just another caption site on the web.
By criticising you open yourself to scrutiny People who live in glass houses.... I recall a caption the other day with a dog mascot pointing someone made a caption referring to Adolf Hitler, Is it acceptable to refer to some despotic tyrant who was responsible for the murder of seven million Jews? Anyway I am aware of blowing things out of proportion... Comedy has to be funny but also something that makes you think, If you sanitise Comedy you neuter it. If you felt the need to watch the video I referred to that was your decision I only made reference to a part of internet folklore.
(added 16th: I think the order of hearing about it, watching clips of other people's reactions to it and later maybe watching it yourself is essential. If you hear about it and immediately go for the video you will be shocked and angry to have been exposed to such filth. But if you hear about it, see other people's reaction to it, it will give you good reasons to stop there. For anyone else that is about to decide to watch it (and don't say you weren't warned) Make sure to video your reaction and send me a link )
I hate the video (no sane person could watch and enjoy it) but I find the reaction videos utterly hilarious.
For that reason, this caption works well.
I'm sad to see people leave in protest over this, but as other commenters have said, the caption is not racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic or derogatory in any way.
And for the record, this site will always accept derogatory content provided it is hilariously funny. I'm not interested in enforcing political correctness. There's enough of that in the corporate world of my day job.
If you want family-friendly entertainment there are plenty of other sites to choose from.
My aim with caption.me is attracting the best humour, in any form it may take.
I really think Lee knew exactly why this caption was more than acceptable and very funny.Take a minute to consider the writers of the Simpsons or Family Guy etc, they are cleverly written and kids shouldn't get the adult jokes but laugh hysterically when Homer falls down a mountain or gets attacked by a bear (thats all I could think of).I hope nobody leaves on such a small issue but I sense a few people and myself included have had enough of captioneers threatening to leave for such minor disagreements. If the people who became offended thought YOU were hard done by just think of me when I googled the video.....It was my Mother and sister who were the stars!...take THAT to your new caption site...heh heh
omg-lol
10:12am
Add a question mark and I'm voting for this one- excellent!
10:18am
Done
10:21am
I think you may have lost your anonymity, Lee
10:24am
heh heh nice 1,and the question mark did it for me too
10:27am
Wasn't me....ahem..
lol
10:30am
hehehe okay then Lee....ahem cough
10:31am
Will only get votes from men. I had to google it because I didn't understand it, grose. If hubby looks through computer history he will wonder what I have been up to.
10:44am
@ Julie...that is exactly why the caption works..try putting your reaction to the clip on these 2 people... ;)
10:48am
Not saying it isn't funny, just grose, it is more of a mans sense of humour.
10:57am
im really sorry julie but the tears are rolling down my face as i pictured your poor hubby accidentally finding that on your search history,at least you have this thread as absolute proof you didnt seek out this filthy behaviour heh heh heh
11:03am
You can add me as another who doesn't get it, so no vote from me ,can hazard a guess though...but won't be googling!
11:15am
Thanks for that Craig, I think the iPads mascara one is much more to my taste and has got my girly vote.

11:36am
Um, I'm with you Shandonbelle. I'm sure about one thing though - I'd rather NOT know what it's referring to."
11:53am
A bit of a Marmite caption Mr Anonymous Author. ahem cough cough
12:12pm
I wondered that too Julie! Ignorance is bliss as they say Anna. :)
Think some of the male captioneers are getting way too much enjoyment out of this one..!

Curiosity also made us human. The reason it killed the cat is because cats don't have consciousness, language, Shakespeare or opposable thumbs. :)

This caption is brilliant and gets my vote 100%.

Count me in as someone - a guy (a very young one, as my photo clearly shows) - who doesn't get it.
And I ain't looking either - I'm having my tea...
