Things I've learnt about the voting on caption.me:

It's rare anyone looks back at previous days' captions so if you want to get votes, try to post your captions within a couple of hours of the new photo going up.
-
If you want to get as many votes as possible, the most heavily voted for captions are often wordplays rather than laugh-out-loud funny captions.
-
Short captions get more votes than long ones.
-
Increasingly, only puns are coming top (yawn).
