Anon1 and Anon2 are right that the ironing joke is the same, but 'Neptune' and 'extreme ironing' are two completely different twists on the same joke, so no need to delete but a nod would be appropriate.
I agree with Stoney McStoney face. A similar thing happened to me the other day when I posted a caption on the basis of someone unable to speak German and therefore smoked in an explosive area. Other captioneers posted later captions based on the same principle and they got votes and I didn't. Ultimately there wording of the joke was better and therefore they got the votes. Who cares. Fair play to them and I just moved onto the next caption.
I often need to be inspired by other captions before I can come up with anything myself. The 'Never give bubblegum to your dog' caption possibly wouldn't have been thought up had it not been for your gum/bum reference and we would've missed out on a great caption.
Sorry Wolf, I was one of the similar captions to yours, so I should have retro-nodded, but it was a blind entry after 52 seconds of furious fat finger typing on my phone, so totally original. There were a couple later that did make me wonder, but you've got to leave it up to the voters to decide who to vote for. At the end of the day even Shakespeare's first drafts would be decidedly average compared to the versions created by his editors.
Lol Karyn, I can almost guarantee that the "Never give bubblegum to your dog" caption wouldn't have come about without the gum/bum reference, and I see its author gave an appropriate nod :)

I didn't notice Neptune's creases and I think it's different enough. What does the group think?

I think the 'ironing' joke is basically the same.

The ironing joke is totally different..and who doesn't look at a surf board and think of ironing...
Na'h move on Nod police.. there are bigger crimes out there.
