I thought I'd read somewhere that Covid can also cause a loss of taste.
You're absolutely right Willie although most cases of loss of taste are due to loss of smell. A lot of our perception of taste actually relies on our sense of smell.
Well, at least you can say that it's not a stinker of a joke.
You could also say it doesn't pass the smell test.
