I need to learn to type faster - do I need to delete this?

In my humble opinion I think exact captions should be deleted allowing the earliest one to remain but I think similar captions should be left for the voters to decide. I usually delete mine in both situations because I cannot be doing with it but I do not agree with it. It is your call...I also steer clear of captions with bad language/ blasphemy of any type. The best comedians that have ever lived have been the ones who kept it clean. That is a quality to be admired. Will hop down off my soapbox now fellow captioneer. Yours to use or lose as the saying goes.

I think it depends. Usually if it's an exact caption, it'll get caught by the familiarity reader. However some slip through the net, others might not get noticed or alternatively ifyou can be bothered to think up another caption after the one you coincidentally thought of as well is there, or you're simply copying etc. By saying this now, depending on if anyone reads this and is inspired I can imagine at 12, there may be a series of the same caption repeated again and again with everyone saying that they didn't see the previous one or otherwise.

I do agree with anon's comment that comedians that have to restrict themselves in their use of language and are funny is a quality to be admired. There are also the comedians that are interchangeable, where they'll do "family" and "adult" shows like Billy Connolly for one. In regards to what is considered as "bad" language, it's all to do with how a comedian uses it and to what effect.

Profanity is just a weak mind lacking vocabulary, writhing in the futility of trying to express itself.

Sadly, in comedy, people think an f-bomb can replace a funny punchline.
