Haha, hope that didn't hurt too much, James. Yes, I did investigate the collective names for multiple penguins hoping for a fun word to p p p play with but, like Glad, choccie biscuits were on my mind too :)
I checked the collective names too Vivvy (as there's nothing worse than making smartarse comments that are completely wrong ) Interesting fact I learnt is that the name of a group of penguins changes depending on what they are doing. Standing around they're a colony, swimming they're a raft, and when walking they're a waddle. Sounds silly, but apparently it's true.
Sounds like we were on the same page, James. You made me wonder who decides on collective nouns because there are some corkers. That's an interesting read too. I love a Charm of goldfinches. A Crash of rhinos is funny. I once educated a Belgian friend of mine with a 'Parliament of owls', she thought that was a hoot. I settled on 'pack' because the children didn't win first prize, nor did they go to the fancy dress the following year because they were eaten on the way home.
What I am now wondering is what do we call a group of captioneers? (Respectful answers only, please). I'll go first, it's my game. A giggle...
They look like they're dawdling. They need to p-p-p-pick up the pace.

Actually, a group of penguins is called a colony, or a rookerAAAAAAAAGH! Jezuz, who turned that bloody machine back on?

A group of penguins should be called a Formal Dinner Party.

If it's a group of captioneers, I think we need an excruciating pun so I'll go for 'gaggle'.
8:31am
Mine's going to be 'Cacophony'.
