Chris, I thought of adding red- in fact, that's where the idea came from, the old joke, 'what's black and white and red all over?'. I remembered that they had to change the 80's film 'A Fish Called Wanda' to remove the blood from the two dogs that got squished by the falling concrete. Somehow, the blood make the gag sick and unfunny, and without it, it was hilarious. I suppose the moral of the story is, cruelty to animals is ok, as long as there's no blood and it's funny.
By the way, I absolutely love this caption, and think you're right about the addition of "red" (it would also disrupt the real punchline of the caption).
Zod, I see what you're saying (I'm a big fan of dark humour), but the joke wasn't about the blood, but about the inherent stupidity of someone advertising that they've found a cat so flat that it could be used as a satellite dish. Also, the possibility that it might actually be alive in that state... :)
This is brilliant.

"black white and red"?

Maybe too much touch to add red? I prefer it without x

Maybe you should've just told the joke but adapted it to suit the image.
Lets face it, youre not looking at a dead animal covered in blood so does it really matter
