Nobody refers to a manager as a manageress because they have to definitively assert what genitals a manager has in case nobody else was aware or needs to know? 🤗
I find "service person" just has so many unnecessary extra syllables and is reminding you that you are being served by a human which you likely would be any way, unless in a robot cafe. 🤔
Is it like they can't say 'waiter', because as soon as they've said 'wait' they have to stop and start again, so they have to say 'serviceperson', is it anon is it?
The only reason I said that was because there was no ending to wait...and then it was replaced with service person. Not knowing what to say a neutral alternative was put in place 😅
As the established order for language sometimes falls into a designation of feminine and masculine, which is also usually possessive I don't get where declaring genitals is significant as "sex workers" are neutral and nobody openly states the sex of a gynaecologist, only the sex being attended to...but anyway enough of this...🙄
Anyway "service person" could be applied from the dog's general existence as dogs don't have waiters, they might very well have "service dogs"
I'm sure waiter is perfectly fine?

Thanks, Glyn, but I wasn't going for the gender angle. There's another joke in there. I just hope someone figures it out

Ok, have done a last minute edit to remove gender/species issue and clarify joke ... hopefully ... maybe.
