Really? The travelers one is going to far??? They love to fight, drink and shout, articles about it in all your papers, movies about it from Guy Richie using the exact same language. Are you here to pick fights or make jokes? We had grammar police now self appointed Political Correctness cops?
Let me guess, you're voting for the dog eating Asian jokes though, right?
That's a great idea...but how will we recognise you from the other anons, avatars and usernames who are presently typing? It's just anon I am taking notes, and your name will go on the list and when we win the respectability wars you will be brought to account.
Whistle while you work, Evans is a jerk, He's half barmy, And he's smarmy, Whistle while you work!
Your name shall also go on the list - What is it? Don't tell him Pikey!
Was wondering why women seem more upset about people posting anonymously. Could it be that almost every woman I know has been lied to and cheated on by men?
Think of the anon feature as a great bonus here. It allows people to test out different shades and facets of their humour. Yes, you too, ladies. Nuances people might have been shy about having connected to their "image" here. It's a freeing feature, not tool of "attack" as it's being branded.
SnapDragon D if your above comment was referencing the comment before - it's not being branded as a tool of attack although that may be your interpretation of it. I was simply parodying anon's comment by using the username community and playing around with language to see what people make of it because I think it's all down to context.
Btw, it's a bit of a stretch saying that women get upset about people posting anonymously because they've been lied to and cheated on. Women lie and cheat on men, women lie and cheat on women, men lie and cheat on men, non-binary lie and cheat on non binary etc. I've been lied to and cheated on before, it doesn't bother me.
It wasn't in response to your comment, Glyn. It was just a thought regarding the comments of the past day or so. Since it was mostly women who were complaining about the "sudden rash of anonymous posts," like it was something nefarious. I was merely trying to encourage them to try an anonymous post to expand their repertoire of comedic flavors.
Sure cheating is a two way street, but perhaps women are more hurt by it? I don't know, and yes I'm fully aware that any distinction between men and women is now called "sexist," even though science proves we're different in many ways.
Look, all I want to do is enjoy jokes here, reading them, writing them, responding to them. Nothing more, nothing less. If people are going to start complaining about some jokes but not others, which might be far more offensive to some, what is the point? And why am I the bad guy for standing up for free speech in joke writing?
I've seen plenty of offensive jokes here, but have yet to see a dude complain.
Just had a revelation. Ignore all "complaints." No response, no debate, nothing. If they want to try to run you off a site for satire, sarcasm, jokes of any kind, it says more about them, than you.
Now I see I get two warnings from Chris, for what? The word "pikey?" "traveler?" "gypsy?" which is it?
Where is the forbidden list? Those words were repeated hundreds of times in Guy Richie's Snatch movie. Where were the offended then? Nobody is picketing his films, right?
We need a list here. You can openly mock white men, all animals, fat people, asians, Trump, Boris, Kardashians, all celebrities, Americans, Jesus, use all the profanity you like, but God forbid you mention a gypsy.
The rules apply to me but not for thee? First my joke was copied, I merely asked if the time stamp is honored or we give a nod? Nothing.
Now this, selective outrage, is hypocrisy.
You have professional quality comedy writers building your site with free content, you're really going to let political correctness destroy all that?
Snapdragon. This isn't my site so I can't tell you what your warnings are for. If it was my site, you wouldn't necessarily get warnings for specific words, but you would get a warning for what seems to be a constant attempt at causing arguments. You're constantly mentioning comedy and perception of offense. Here's how it works. Place a caption, if people like it, they'll vote for it. People have their own ideas of offense and you'll quickly understand the mood of the site. We don't represent 'the world' or acceptable language within it. We represent Caption.me and if you'd like advice, here it is. Caption, vote and be nice. Nobody cares about pointless and irrelevant links to general comedy (or Guy Richie films). You've made some great captions and I've voted for many of them. Don't ruin it by making the site something it's not. (A Forum for ranting about your own ideology). All the best.
Well said, Wolf. Anon commenting is not intended to conceal the identity of mischievous commenters.
The atmosphere on this site matters a lot to me and I will always act to keep it positive. I have PMed a final warning to the individual who's responsible for most of the recent aggro on this site.
BTW SnapDragon - if you knew me personally you'd know I cannot stand political correctness. But that's not the issue here.
Using a mixture of anon and public comments to stir up trouble on this site will always be a short-lived endeavour. Bear that in mind.
I've been biting my tongue on this for a few days, mostly because I think everyone is sick of unnecessary drama, but there are a couple of things I've got to say.
Claiming the Anon feature is the site's avenue to political correctness seems odd, at best. Caption.me revels in its lack of political correctness. The difference that you, Anon, don't seem to acknowledge, is between captions and comments. Captions refer to remote entities and, short of hate speak, anything goes. Comments pertain to your fellow Captioneers, who are real people and part of this community. It's not being hypocritical to treat comments differently from captions, it's just showing respect for your peers.
As far as Anon's comments have gone, I personally haven't found them that offensive, but as I tried, and failed, to explain to Anon, your comments are more likely to be construed as negative if you don't put your name to them. There has been a history of Anon/s who have tried to stir up trouble, so people are naturally suspicious.
And the logic is simple. If you're saying something in good humour, why hide? If you're hiding your identity because you think your comments might offend your fellow Captioneers, why say them?
Well I'm just gutted, I saw so many comments on my caption I thought there had been an early monthly prize award and you were all here congratulating me on my genius.. best cancel that £50 Amazon order.
Great minds think alike. You beat me to it, you get my vote.
7:35pm
Beat me too it too, as I'm relaxing in my caravan and couldn't be bothered with copy and pasting my caption😂
7:40pm
I've never had a great mind snapdragon although I try
I'm also sat in my caravan Nina hope it's not as wet there as here
8:35pm
We're in wales and it's pissing down. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else 😂
9:36pm
I think great minds think a like. Well done. You deserved it😊
9:42pm
re: "We're in wales and it's pissing down..."
I thought for sure, you were starting a limerick
9:52pm
I'm in Wales also put your head out the caravan and shout I shall see if I can hear you
6:01am
That's a great idea... but how will you recognize me from all the other caravan travelers, gypsies & pikeys who are also presently shouting?
9:13am
Anon. The last comment you left was inappropriate and offensive. Think you may have taken your humour a bit too far?
4:11pm

7:07pm
Whoa, dogs are eating Asians?
* Sorry, I couldn't resist. I don't have a dog in this fight. I apologize in advance if this was in poor taste.
7:25pm
2 word jokes should be required to come with a paragraph of disclaimers, apologies and caveats.
Don't worry Willie, we always know you're joking, and you've come to the right place for it.
7:39pm
That's a great idea...but how will we recognise you from the other anons, avatars and usernames who are presently typing?

Meanwhile, on a caption site nearby, some people placed captions and voted for captions. And they all lived happily ever after. The end.
