I want to thank everybody for their very kind words. I am astonished, though, that there were only six people voting in this month's contest (and some of them didn't even use all three of their votes) - I am sure there used to be far more than that! The shortage of votes resulted in three excellent captions getting no votes at all. I wonder to what extent mine benefited from just being at the top of the list?
